In August of 2026 we booked a cruise on the Star Legend. Windstar's Star Legend is a 527 foot vessel with a 312 passenger capacity. The Star Legend carries 200 crew. This is a much smaller cruise ship than we have sailed on previously. We enjoyed this cruise immensely. A smaller passenger list enabled the ship's crew to deliver a more individualized experience. We were quickly on a first name basis with several crew members. Crew also took care to learn our names and took an interest in our well being and cruise enjoyment.  We have planned another Windstar cruise on Wind Spirit.

Our recent cruise was the Star Legend Luck and Legends cruise which originated in Northern Scotland and finished in Rouen France. The cruise departed Dundee Scotland on August 1 with stops in Invergordon (Inverness/Loch Ness), Kirkwall (Orkney Islands), Ullapool, and Oban (or Tobermory). From Scotland we sailed to Ireland and Northern Ireland with stops in Portrush, Belfast, Londonderry, Killybegs, Galway, Dingle, County Cork (Cobh), and Waterford. A planned stop in the UK at the Isle of Man was short lived as the sea was not calm enough for us to tender ashore. A stop at the Isles of Scilly on the way to France went as planned. Star Legend sailed up the Seine River to Rouen, our final destination. We disembarked Star Legend August 20th. The cruise portion of the adventure was over but we had plans to spend a couple of days in Paris and then take the train to London.

The adventure begins with our arrival at Heathrow Airport where we met up with my brother and his wife. We boarded a train in London for Edinburgh, Scotland. Follow along with us and come back to this page over the next few weeks as we build the adventure through photography. Each stop will have information on what we see and a photo gallery.
